Having had rather a lengthy hiatus, I'm back to sell more of my collection/ 2nd copies/ records I think might be of interest to others. In previous years I've sold very rare PROG, 60s, PUNK etc, ranging from cheap record right up to £1000 records, and have invariably got good feedback. However, having been away from selling for so long I realise I need to build up current positive feedback again, hence I'm listing many items at buy it now prices, please check out my current, and coming here at my other items! Here's a hot title variant in THE BEATLES rarities. By the end of the decade, EMI had begun omiting the "SOLD IN THE UK..." text on the centres of their labels, (that's why there are no copies of Something, and Let It Be with that text), however, it wasn't until the 70s that they gave their labels an overhaul and icluded the boxed EMI logo, and changed the outer rim-text again. So from 1969, until I believe 1972 the very few copies they did make were with these transitional labels. I say very few copies, as the early 60s titles were only available to special order (why would a record shop stock a record that A) everybody had, and B) many perfectly good secondhand copies were available!),so if someone really wanted a brand new copy of a Beatles hit of a couple of years prior,they'd have to ask the record shop, and if the shop didn't have an old stock copy still in stock-which may would, they'd especially order it in from the factory. Not all titles were available (as they had been deleted), and some were more common than others (such as Strawberry Fields, and Yellow Submarine- though these are still by no means easy to find!). Paperback writer is not a common title to find with this very rare label variation, and yet, on offer here today is a great copy of such a rarity!

LABELS: VG, Generally really barely touched, but as the main photo shows there is sadly a small outline of sticker removal damage on the A-side at 4 o'clock that some crafty collector (not myself) has darkened off by colouring it in! The B-side is fine! Without this defect they would easily grade EX-with just very light handling wear, no rips, just a couple of light spindle trails. There was no central tax codes needed after 1968,(yet a few still turn up!), and by the time these "polo" central rings arrived (general consensus seems to be these came in 1972, though there is still some unsurity on this issue), the central code had definately disappeared. The deadwax on both sides still carry the leftover KT taxcodes at 12 o'clock. The labels are free of any graffitti (other than the colouring of the sticker-graze), or other stains/ rips. Indeed the record labels, whilst having a little storage rub,judging by the spindle holes, and such limited spindle rubs, looks like it only sawa turntable a handful of times!
VINYL: VG+/EX-, Just some very feint surface marks/ withdrawl harlines, only really visible when angled into strong direct halogen light. Plays absolutely superbly!
SLEEVE: EX, A superb example of the correct sleeve for this release. Crisp, with no rips/stains/discolourations/graffitti, edge wear-thoughs, and only very slight handling foxing along the edges of the top opening mouth. Central die-cut hole edges are all really great, not even a nick in them!
