Description
The Beatles - 'Please Please Me'
BLACK & GOLD STEREO LP
First Pressing (PCS 3042), 1963, UK
This is the rarest & most sought after of all Beatles records, and arguably of any record.
Please Please Me was The Beatles very first album and the record which started 'Beatlemania'. In 1963 most people did not have stereo players, so very few stereo LPs were pressed. This copy (pictured) is a genuine stereo FIRST press, one of only 900 made some 46 years ago. This is also the ONLY version were John Lennon makes a mistake while singing 'Please Please Me' and sings 'come on' with a slight chuckle in his voice. So this is a once-in-a-lifetime chance to own your very own piece of rock'n'roll history!!!!
It carries the Dick James Music Co. credits to 4 tracks, which were altered in later versions. The LP also carries the MZT tax codes with stamper numbers 1-G & 1-R, which confirms it as one of the first pressed. The Angus McBean front cover credit is to the far right and comes in it's correct Earnest J Day sleeve, with original thicker 'Use Emitex' inner sleeve.
I cannot stress enough, this is a must for any music fan. This fine example comes from a smoke free enviroment and has been stored upright with my other records. DON'T MISS OUT ON THIS INCREDIBLE OPPORTUNITY, it will be a very VERY long time before you get another chance to own a Black & Gold Stereo 1st Pressing in this BEAUTIFUL condition!!!!

Record Collector Grading System
- MINT: The record itself is in brand new condition with no surface marks or deterioration in sound quality. The cover and any extra items such as the lyric sheet, booklet or poster are in perfect condition. Records advertised as Sealed or Unplayed should be Mint.
- EXCELLENT: The record shows some signs of having been played, but there is very little lessening in sound quality. The cover and packaging might have slight wear and / or creasing.
- VERY GOOD: The record has obviously been played many times, but displays no major deterioration in sound quality, despite noticeable surface marks and the occasional light scratch. Normal wear and tear on the cover or extra items, without any major defects, is acceptable.
- GOOD: The record has been played so much that the sound quality has noticeably deteriorated, perhaps with some distortion and mild scratches. The cover and contents suffer from folding, scuffing of edges, spine splits, discolouration, etc.
- FAIR: The record is still just playable but has not been cared for properly and displays considerable surface noise; it may even jump. The cover and contents will be torn, stained and / or defaced.
- POOR: The record will not play properly due to scratches, bad surface noise, etc. The cover and contents will be badly damaged or partly missing.
- BAD: The record is unplayable or might even be broken, and is only of use as a collection filler.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION
*Thanks for the interest in the LP - I've had it valued by a professional at £4000 but he graded the vinyl, sleeve and label as VG rather than EX- so please be aware of this when bidding. He noted that under a strong light four very light scratches were visible (one on side one and three on side two) but none of these effected the sound quality of the vinyl. He also remarked that the sleeve had wear on the top but was still intact. The labels are as described and have sticker wear and some fading of the gold in patches. Thought I better be 100% clear about the quality of the vinyl. Cheers, Matt*
