Description

This is a fourth press copy of Please Please Me - at least I think it's a fourth press, it's getting a bit confusing with extra dots and 33 1/3s here and there.


For it's age the sleeve is in very good condition. The laminated front has a little creasing here and there and there's some shelfwear, especially at the corners. The unlaminated rear has held it's whiteness well though there's some minor wear near the opening. The bottom flipback may have been repaired in the past. The spine is fully readable apart from the s in the second "please".


The vinyl itself has lots of marks, most probably from sleeve removal, but plays through with no skips, sticks or jumps. There is crackle throughout which is mainly heard between tracks and quieter moments thanks to the power of the music and I also noticed the odd bit of distortion and 3 or 4 ticks on side 2. Access to professional cleaning gear may improve this no end.


The original inner shows signs of ringwear and use around the opening but has no splits or tears.


Overall a solid copy
