Description

THE BEATLES - REVOLVER
An overall nice condition copy of this 1966 UK very 1st press and rare withdrawn Beatles classic, with nice outer sleeve and overall impressive MONO sound quality but with some minor clicks and occasional  background minor crackle...still a great listen
Label number : PMC 7009 Matrix numbers : XEX 605 - 2, XEX 606 - 1 Stampers :  1 RP  /  2 A G  (very early stampers)
The condition of the vinyl is very good (VG) - the vinyl has retained an impressive jet black sheen and remains flat and weighty. There are, however, a number of small light hairlines and scuff marks on each side of the vinyl indicating that this record has received a fair number of plays. These blemishes are non-obvious, non-feelable, certainly nothing nasty resulting in skips or loud "pops", but do result in some occasional light clicking and sporadic light background crackle. Still a great listen but not perfection.   Excellent (EX) condition labels with the only blemishes being some  faint spindle trails on each. The "K" and "T" tax codes are embossed upon the side 2 label, indicative of a 1st UK pressing.   A solid very good (VG) condition original Garrod & Lofthouse front-side laminated flipback outer sleeve with firm unscuffed edges, firm spine with all spine text perfectly intact, well defined right angle corners with minimal rubbing, firm opening edges with no fraying, no laminate lift, excellent condition flipbacks, and all art work, colours, photos and sleeve text remaining in impressively crisp condition with excellent definition still. The only blemishes are some vertical and very mild age discolouration on towards the front-side opening edge, just a couple of  very light small age/handling surface marks on the reverse side, x5 1cm non-obvious laminate crinkles adjacent and perpendicular to the spine on the front side (each of which does just run-over onto the reverse side flipback - very trivial), two very light and again non-obvious 8cm laminate crinkles on the front side - one towards the top right corner and the other next to the top edge, and finally just the hint of some very mild ring wear towards the opening edge on the reverse side. Still fully funtional and still highly presentable - in fact, hard to believe that this sleeve is now 60 years of age!   A solid very good (VG) MONO audio quality with no skips, jumps, repeats, sticks, or distortion. As already mentioned there is some sporadic light clicking on both sides along with some occasional very light crackle but nothing nasty and still a great listen from start to finish. The background crackle is only really noticeable during the intermissions and quieter moments. Comes with original plain white "MADE IN GREAT BRITAIN" inner sleeve with "PATENTS APPLIED FOR" text with some mild creasing in the corners, a little "nick" on the top edge, and some very, very mild age discolouration. Note that I always insert the vinyl into a poly-lined plain white sleeve in order to protect the original.
An overall nice condition and very listenable copy (despite the aorementioned blemishes) of this rare withdrawn Beatles clsssic 966 UK 1st pressing.
POSTAGE COSTS :   For the UK £3.38 using Royal Mail tracked 48 (ebay "Simple Delivery");  for continental Europe £11 using Royal Mail 1st class tracked; and for the rest of the world £17 using Royal Mail 1st class tracked.
I do provide posting and packaging discounts for multiple purchases. I make no profit from postage.Note that I always insert the vinyl into a new plain white poly-lined inner sleeve in order to protect the original during postage, and separate this from the outer sleeve to prevent seam splits. A bit about myself : I have been collecting UK vinyl for over 56 years from a variety of sources : my own collection, friends and family, car boot and garage sales, door-to-door leaflets, and even through placing an advert in my wife's shop window! My ebay feedback speaks for itself so rest assured that you are buying from a trusted seller and in the very unlikely event that you are unhappy with your purchase just e-mail me and I will sort out the problem. I offer a "no questions asked" refund policy. If you require any further information, including photos, then let me know and I'll do my best to oblige. There is NO RESERVE on this item. Richard
