The Beatles : Revolver 2/2 2nd Mono press
This could be viewed as a first pressing as it is the first issue after the discontinued 'withdrawn' 2/1 press. Best call it a second pressing though! It plays very well with no clicks or pops but with some light static here and there. I am sure this could be reduced when played as mono as I only have a stereo system albeit a very good one! Visually the record is in superb order with no scratches.
The cover is in excellent condition with only a little wear here and there.

The audio on S1 is Ex+ (Track 2 & 5 Ex)

Play grading
S1 begins with a very strong version of 'Taxman' which often plays with a lot of static distortion but that is not the case here. There is just the one very light tick and only minimal, very minimal static. 'Eleanor Rigby' has just a little more static but it is quiet and still grades as Ex in my opinion and 'I'm Only Sleeping' is Ex+ and plays with great clarity aside from one light tick. The remaining tracks have no clicks or pops and only a little static here and there although 'Here, There And Everywhere' does have a little more but again it is quiet. 'Yellow Submarine' plays incredibly well and 'She Said She Said' has only a minimal inner groove distortion, it is a very 'clean' final track.
S2 plays in similar fashion to S1 i.e. no clicks or pops and only a little background static. 'Good Day Sunshine' in the main plays superbly and this applies to the majority of the tracks. 'For No One' again has some light static but again it is largely non-intrusive. There is perhaps a little more static on this side but I repeat there are no clicks or pops and overall the audio is excellent. The final track 'Tomorrow Never knows' is stunning and rounds off the album in sublime style with very powerful audio and no distortion which makes a change!
Visual grading
The vinyl is in beautiful condition with a jet-black glossy sheen and has no scratches. S1 has only a small number of very faint hairlines and S2 if anything is even cleaner with only three minor 'spots' and a couple of hairlines. Considering how early this pressing is it is visually very impressive.
The Cover
The 'Patents pending' G & L cover is in excellent condition with only a little shelf wear. The edges and spine are superb and there is barely any corner wear also. The opening edge does have some handling wear but not an excessive amount. The laminated front cover has no marking, just a couple of very faint creases and a small tear repair next to the opening edge although I did not notice it at first, it is only minor. The back cover is in excellent shape with only a little fading/ringwear and a little marking around the flipbacks. The flipbacks are very strong and remain firmly in place.
The Emitex Inner
The original inner is very clean but does have one side split. However, it has no marking and only minimal creasing.
The Labels
The yellow/black Parlophone labels have no marking or writing, just some spindle wear.
Play tested on my Pro-Ject Essential III Turntable // B & W 684 Speakers
This record has been professionally cleaned on a Pro-Ject VC-S machine
