 Visual grading

This vinyl is in great condition for its age.  There are only a very small number of sleeve removal hairlines and no scratches.  Rarely have I seen a second mono press looking so clean.  There are a handful of tiny specks but quite honestly it would be difficult to find a better looking vinyl.  The run out grooves are also very clean and there is not a great deal of spindle wear either.

Play grading

S1 plays with wonderful audio with only a minimal amount of light static here and there.  'Taxman' for example begins with what I call very low grade crackle but this is very soon replaced by non intrusive light intermittent static sounds.  The music plays very clearly and it is an excellent listen.  'Eleanor Rigby' is very impressive for such a quiet song as there is only mega light background static in a handful of places.  The sound quality is of a superb standard for a vinyl over 50 years of age.  This quality continues but with a little light crackle on the 'Love You To' intro and during 'Here, There And Everywhere'.  The iconic 'Yellow Submarine' plays without issue and is a wonderful listen and 'She Said She Said' plays with similar quality and very little distortion which is rare for this final track.  Just to add this side may have a little quiet 'background' here and there but there are no clicks or pops which is a real rarity...and definitely no jumps!

'Good Day Sunshine' does have a little more crackle in the background but I don't think it is particularly intrusive and the music still plays very clearly with no clicks or pops.  In fact S2 plays with more crackle than S1 but again it is largely in the background and is not interfering with the music.  There is however more crackle in the dead wax between tracks.  Don't let me put you off!  The audio on a vinyl of such advanced years is still of an excellent standard and the quietest track on the side 'For No One' really impresses with very little 'background'.  'Tomorrow Never Knows' ends the album with very clear audio with the only interference being on the fade out.  Again no clicks, pops or jumps on this side.

Cover

The E.J. Day laminated cover is in excellent condition overall with some minor shelf wear.  The edges and thin spine are in superb shape with barely any wear and you can only see a few small laminate creases around the edges.  The opening edge has only a small amount of handling wear and the front cover itself is very clean with no marking and no laminate splits or lifting.  The corners just have a little rubbing.  The back cover is also very clean with no writing (that is rare!) and only faint staining on the flipbacks.  This is one of the cleanest mono covers you will see, not perfect, but perfectly acceptable for such a rare pressing and no marking.

Inner sleeve

The poly-lined inner sleeve included here I think is the original but is not an Emitex one.  It has no splits, only some light creasing and age related marking on the top edge.

The labels

The yellow/black Parlophone labels have no marking or writing and not very much spindle wear which is very rare.  The KT tax code is on the S1 label.
