This 2nd Mono Pressing of REVOLVER has unusual labels on both sides as they have been stamped on off-centre!

The spindle location point is of course dead centre, but the labels have missed the central point, and almost completely on Side 1.

As the LP turns on the turntable the labels lend a swirling effect! Looks very psychedelic and with great audio as the LP plays and is very fitting for REVOLVER!

This printing error should't have made it into the stores way back in 1967.

This 2nd Mono pressing is housed in the rarer EJ DAY printed sleeve with the 'DR. ROBERT' track listing error which was quickly corrected to DOCTOR ROBERT.

The master matrices and mother and stamper codes are all effectively positioned differently to how they would normally be found, a result of the labels being pressed on at the wrong angles.

The Sleeve: 1st & original Sleeve in Very Good Condition.

Has maintained a firm, flat and overall neat appearance with no fraying to the lamination, which covers over the edges and spine onto the clean fold-over flaps. The spine is fully intact and the title text is clear and bold. The iconic front photo is basically unblemished with just a few light lamination half-moon type crease lines. Still glossy front pictorial,  and the rear panel of the sleeve is clean, a couple of visual creass and ring line near opening. Neat opening side which lies flat, with light storage wear along its length and corners.

No sticker or sticker residue, and no writing or writing imprints. No splits or rips.

Inner Sleeve : EMI 'Patents Applied For' and 'Made in Great Britain' window-less inner sleeve, strangely ... it has the Emitex advertising text printed on it, as with its tracing-paper lined pre-decessor, so this one must have been produced at the point of phasing the old ones out. It is in a Good condition and fully functional with no edge splits and is intact inside and out, but it does have creasing and some browning spots on both sides.  Recommended as novelty item, so included in this sale is a standard periodically correct plain white 'Patent Applied For', 'Made In Great Britain' printed inner sleeve as came with most issues at this time.

The Vinyl: In Excellent condition. The vinyl retains a deep bright black glossy finish. Under bright light, there are just a few feint non-feelable surface hairlines, very fine and very light, showing that this LP has received a far less than average number of plays, and has not certainly been over played like so many had. The surface is completely smooth and in normal light the vinyl surfaces still look fresh and projects a bright mirror-like shine. There are no feelable marks or scratches on either side, and the blemishes noted have to be scrutinised under light. The vinyl is clean, the record lays completely flat on the turntable, has no scuffs, no warping or dinks in the vinyl, glossy and clean with no groove wear, and warrants a high grading.

Very heavy robust sixties vinyl weighing at 170 grams.

Labels are Very Good Plus/ Excellent, the text is clear and bright, the perimeter area around the spindle location point has  light play wear around its perimenter, but spindle location line traces a very few can hardly be seen, very neat.

Has the KT tax code embossed on Side 2.

Mother & Stampers

Side 1 - 6/ 10 RLH - appear incorrectly at 5 o'clock and 11 o'clock position

Side 2 -  4 RLA appear incorrectly at 7 o'clock and 1 o'clock position

The label on side 2  have Eleanor Rigby and Taxman on the same line, and are in the format of song title, followed by lead-singer, followed by composer. In a sans-serif block type font with -2/-3 matrices, this makes this a 1967 pressing of REVOLVER.

The Audio: The audio grades as Excellent, there are no detractions such as pops, skips, jumps or sticks, and no interuptions to the audio which is evident from the visual condition of the surfaces, and has been play tested to confirm. The surfaces project a full original mono bass reproduction, and the vocals/ instrumentals are crisp and clear. There is no background noise, and the into's and outro's and dead-wax grooves preceding and succeeding the songs are quiet with hardly any surface noise at all, just static type ticks occasionally. A very fine example visibly and audibly.

Very rare LP that is likely to increase in value as it is said to mark the start of The Beatles experimental phase. 

Not many with mispressed labels like this would have passed EMI's strict quality control and made it into the stores.

An excellent plain EMI Patents Applied For inner Sleeve is included and will house the record with the rare one shown  placed separately.

A high grade PVC sleeve is included to further protect the LP as shown.
