SO FOR AUCTION:
Here is THE UK RAREST copy of The Beatles Revolver  – in glorious MONO, 52 years after it left the factory.
BACK GROUND HISTORY

For those collectors who are unaware, the track as it appears on this 606-1 pressing is significantly different to the one that appears on all later copies of the album. The seagull sounds are more intense and random, the track is longer and there is piano playing at the end of the track.

The song was seen by Lennon as a ground-breaking seminal piece of music, so it is understandable why he went to such lengths to have the track replaced on all later versions of the album.

Exactly how many were pressed before the album was withdrawn is not known but judging by the stamping codes, production ceased very early on in the production cycle and certainly before the release date of August 5th 1966.

EMI destroyed copies of the album and released some by error but the inconsistency in the stamping codes on the records that have survived would suggest that many copies were destroyed and never found their way into the shops.

The legacy of course is that collectors are left with a very rare pressing and an alternative mix of one of the greatest and most seminal Beatles tracks of all time.

In August 1966, on the first day of manufacturing for the Revolver LP, John Lennon had second thoughts about the mix they had selected for "Tomorrow Never Knows." Side 2 track 7
So consequently He immediately  phoned up George Martin, who in turn immediately called the Pressing factory.
The presses were almost immediately stopped, but not before a very limited number of these records, with the Rejected mix for "Tomorrow Never Knows,"  with the now famous Matrix number on side 2 YEX 606-1 had already been pressed and packaged (mostly dispatched to record shops in Liverpool) – Therefore creating an instant, highly sought-after Beatles collectors item.
This vinyl is RARE and very much sort after and does not come up for sale very often especially in this nice clean condition !!!!
