THE BEATLES
RUBBER SOUL
1965 2ND MONO PRESSING
-4/ -4 Matrices
This LP looks to be hardly ever played.
Sleeve:
The 1st issue sleeve is in a strong Very Good Plus condition, retaining its rigidity and structure. The spine is completely intact with clear title text. The edges are smooth with no shelf wear. The corners are square with a very minor amount of scuffing. The lamination is tight with no surface creases, and the pictorial retains it’s bright contrast. The lamination is tight and glossy. No tears, no rips or repairs etc. There is merely a hint of record ring-wear on the front panel and a hint of age discolouration on the rear panel. A very clean example.
Inner Sleeve: Excellent condition original tracing paper lined-inner omitting the ‘Patents Pending’ text, which is correct for this issue. It is completely intact, no cosmetic defects, and as good as they come.
The Vinyl: In a very strong Excellent Plus condition. The vinyl has retained a jet-black glossy pressing sheen all over both sides. Under halogen light with the disc held at various angles it is immediately obvious that the record has received at most five or six plays. There are no warps, no scuffs, no needle drops, no groove wear, no scratches, and even no hairline marks. There are a literally only a few extremely feint small non feele-able localised wispy line traces near the outer edge on one side which only reveal themselves under bright light with the disc held angled, and could just be from sleeve insertion/ removal. The surfaces are clean and have retained their original lustre. The disc is essentially near mint.
The Labels: Excellent condition. They are in great shape apart from a few spindle line traces, but there is no wear to the spindle perimeter.
There is no tax code stamped on the label - which very very rare to see!
The Audio: This is an audiophile copy. It is perfect all of the way through on both sides and I can categorically state that it could not be bettered. The audio is Near Mint. Literally only a few static type tics only in the linking groves between some tracks due to age, but there is no deviation/ distractions over any of the audio whatsoever.
Mothers/ Stampers: 4 GTD & 48 GLO
So all in all a brilliant condition original copy, and another one like this will not come up again in a very long while, if ever.
