'SGT. PEPPER'S LONELY HEARTS CLUB BAND'

In the past, late 60s/1970 issues of Beatles LPs have been unfairly judged as being inferior to 1st pressings. However, close attention to detail, and more importantly, sound quality, shows that they sound as good as or in some cases, a little better than their overplayed, more expensive 1st pressing counterparts.

These discs pressed in the UK between October 1969 until late 1972 on 1 or 2 EMI Box, 'Gramophone Co..' rimmed labels, were pressed on high quality vinyl and in most cases used the same original 'tube-cut' mixes/masters as 1st pressings. All boast outstanding sound quality which later solid-state cuts never matched.

This EXCELLENT disc is on the silver & black '£-EMI-Box' Parlophone label: PCS 7027

Both labels have 'Gramophone Co. Ltd..' rims

The disc is housed in a fully laminated, gatefold 'Garrod & Lofthouse' printed stereo cover,NON-FLIPBACK(the edges are not glued over but inside the record sleeve), leaving a perfectly smooth & shiny top-to-bottom inner gatefold sleeve surface with stunning colour photos AND ORIGINAL SGT. PEPPER COLOUR CUT-OUT SHEET. It has' O 1967 Long Play 33 1/3 r.p.m. PCS7027 Stereo' on top right hand corner of back cover(small 'p' inside first 'O') and      'This is a stereo recording' & 'A splendid time is guaranteed for all' as last 2 lines of text on bottom right on back cover.



Complete with its original plain white 'Patent Nos..' inner-sleeve.

Matrix numbers: YEX 637-1 & YEX 638-1 (the same as the 1967 1st pressing)
