Description
You are bidding on a great condition copy of The Beatles 1967 album Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band. This is a very early 1st pressing, indicated by the stampers on the run out grooves. The red and white 'Fool' inner sleeve and card insert are both present. The whole package is in excellent condition and plays well. Please read on for a detailed description and check out the photos of the actual item you are bidding on.
The sleeve: Very clean Garrod & Lofthouse gatefold sleeve. All laminate is in perfect condition except for a few creases. The fold over flaps are perfect. The corners have very minor bumping. The side opening edges have very minimal wear. There are are no seam splits. There is a small amount of damage to the lower half of the spine. Overall this is a superb sleeve which i would grade Exc+
The stampers: Side 1: 1 AML Side 2: 3 ADA
Tax code: KT embossed on Side 2
Matrix: -1 on both sides
The labels: Both side's labels are in great condition with no damage and strong text. there is minimal spindle marks to both sides. I would grade both sides Exc
The vinyl: Both sides retain most of the original high gloss sheen. There are a quite a lot of marks and hairline scratches. I would grade both sides as VG
The sound: Overall the sound is great. There is crackle throughout the record on both sides, but it is not too obtrusive and mainly only noticable in the quieter parts. There are some audiable pops in places as well. There are no skips or jumps. I would grade it VG+
The inner sleeve: The original red and white inner sleeve designed by Fool is included. It is in superb condition with only minimal creasing. I would grade it as Exc
The insert: The card insert is included and is in perfect condition. I would grade it NM
Overall this is a great example of a very early first press of The Beatles' Sgt. Pepper album in mono. I would grade the record overall as Exc
