Complete original 1st UK Mono press of The Beatles ‘Sgt. Peppers Lonely Hearts Club Band' LP from June, 1967 with rare ‘Fourth Proof’ sleeve, this version still had its pre-production marking on. Rare in itself but also in this condition and esepcially with an unworn fully-readable spine.   

THIS WOULD BE ONE OF THE VERY EARLIEST EVER OF THE UK MONO COVERS TO HAVE BEEN PRINTED!!! 

AND WERE NOT SUPPOSED TO BE RELEASED FOR SALE!! 

THE 'FOUTH PROOF' THAT WAS PRINTED ON THE INSIDE OF THE GATEFOLD WERE THE 1ST EVER TO BE PRINTED AND WERE USED TO PROOF THE ARTWORK/PRINTING BEFORE THE FURTHER PRINTING OF THE COVERS WERE RELEASED!!!

1st UK Pressing, (FOURTH PROOF)
A Garrod & Lofthouse Patents pending laminated gatefold cover (flipback glue-tabs on inner spread);
A red half-tone print on white 'psychedelic' inner sleeve;
A 'cut-outs' card insert (full-color, single-sided. Printed signatures of Blake/Haworth at foot);
A black and yellow logo label with silver text:
"The Gramophone Co." in the radial text and "Sold in the U.K. Subject To Resale Price Conditions, See Price Lists" across label at center, with "Made in Gt. Britain" at foot.

The vinyl is in fantastic condition,bright & clean audio throughout. Beautiful glossy vinyl with just a few light surface marks visible under bright light.

*COVER: EXCELLENT  

Some minor faint wear and creasing to edges

Vinyl Grading System

Mint (M) – Absolutely perfect in every way. Never been played and usually sealed.

Near Mint (NM) – The record has been on a shelf between other records. The vinyl looks glossy and clearly has only been played a few times. There are no marks on the vinyl and the whole package is complete.

Excellent (EX) – Same but I’d tolerate very light marks where the vinyl has been in and out of the inner sleeve a few times, or tiny signs of use generally.

Very Good Plus (VG+) – A few further faults are acceptable, but nothing that really compromises the record visually or audibly. A little rub, light inaudible marks, a little background crackle

Very Good (VG) – It’s seen a bit of life, but is still usable. Light pops and clicks, an edge split, light visible scratches. You can still listen to it and enjoy looking at it, but it is visually and audibly USED.

Good (G) – To be honest you’re making trouble for yourself here, as Good means Bad. I’d only be selling something really desirable in this condition, with a bargain price and a full, no holds barred description to match.

Poor (P), Fair (F) Attempting to listen will be a disturbing experience. Expect major noise issues, skipping or repeating. The record itself is cracked, badly warped and has deep scratches. The cover is also approaching death
