Description
THE BEATLES SGT PEPPERS LONELY HEARTS CLUB BAND
The labels are black and yellow Parlophone.
HAS SOLD IN U.K. ON INNER, UNUSUALLY SIDE ONE HAS MISPRESS SOLD IN.U.K. ONE EXTRA DOT WHICH APPEARED BRIEFLY ON BOTH MONO AND STEREO RELEASES. ONCE SPOTTED IT VERY QUICKLY DISAPPEARED- BIT OF A RARITY !!!
There is evidence of a small amount of play, though certainly not excessive, little evidence of spindle marks around the centre hole.
The matrix numbers confirm that this is a first pressing:
Side 1 YEX 637-1 MOTHER DO STAMPER 4
Side 2 YEX 638-1 MOTHER OP STAMPER 33
KT tax code etched next to spindle holes on side 2!
The vinyl, while not mint, is in a more than respectable EX condition with just a few light cosmetic paper scuffs which do not affect play.
The gatefold sleeve is in quite a good condition, with just mainly wear to the spine. It is free from edge splits and writing so often found on covers of this age. Wear shows mainly on the corners and open edge. Complete with the original cut outs sheet and red/white inner(MADE IN GREAT BRITAIN,PATENTS APPLIED FOR-on bottom RH corner).Inner sleeve has 2” split on bottom. Wear and tear for an item of this age.
This is the perfect opportunity to pick up a UK original stereo pressing of a classic LP in a highly respectable condition.
