It is important to note that in addition to the Swan Catalog Number, the words "VIRTUE STUDIO", can be found on both sides in the trail off area of the vinyl giving collectors the knowledge and confidence that this is an Authentic Rare Swan Copy of 'She Loves You' recorded in German, as this is one of the most pirated Beatles 45s ever !!
Original Swan record pressings of both She Loves You and Sie Liebt Dich 7 inch 45 RPM have VIRTUE STUDIO (This is hand-etched) in the runoff vinyl. If this is missing, or it appears on one side and not the other, it is not an original. The 'A' side label has the time of the recording of 2:18 on the right side. On the left side of the label are the words GIL MUSIC CORP, with BMI under that. Just above the checkered wave are the words DON'T DROP OUT. The song title SIE LIEBT DICH is on one line with the English translation (She Loves You) all on the same line in quotes, with DIE BEATLES under that, in bold, just above S-4181-S. Thick print style bold font with same line translation. This particular genuine rare version was pressed in MONO on May 21,1964 by Mallard.
The 'B' side label is I'LL GET YOU. On the upper left are the words DON'T DROP OUT. On the right side below the checkered wave is the running time of 2:04. On the left side below the checkered wave are the words NORTHERN MUSIC LTD., ASCAP.
Swan obtained rights for the German version of 'She Loves You' titled 'Sie Liebt Dich'. The German version was recorded in January of 1964 by the boys while in Paris, France at the request of EMI’s German operation. So in May of 1964 the song was again paired with “I’ll Get You” (still in English) and released in the U.S. The result: Number 97 on the Billboard Hot 100 for a single week and then gone, other than spending four weeks on the 'Bubbling Under' charts. Little is known of exactly how Swan obtained the German version. It is speculated that the company simply got it’s hands on a German Odeon record label copy and copied it. Under those rather sneaky tactics, Swan was hoping that EMI or U.S. Capitol records would not raise a fuss about the legality of the maneuver. But Capitol naturally did fuss and some sort of agreement was reached to withdraw the record after a short production. Court records of such a ruling have since been destroyed and no one knows the exact details. Swan managed to hold on for a few more years before closing it’s doors in 1967.
This Rare version was issued on May 21, 1964. The Vinyl is stunningly *MINT* and appears to have rarely had a needle on it !! Both labels are beautiful showing NO writing, NO tears/rips, NO stickers and NO fading. It will arrive with a sharp colorful 'She Loves You' S-4152 fantasy sleeve to store your new treasure in, and to keep it safe for many many years.
Overall this treasure is in MINT condition, amazingly now over 56 years old !! You won't find a nicer copy anywhere !

On 29th. January, 1964, the Beatles recorded German lyric version of the "She Loves You" at EMI Pathe Marconi Studios in Paris, France. The recordings were made at the request of EMI's West German branch, Electrola. The German lyric recording, "Sie Liebt Dich" was issued in Germany on Odeon O22 671 in mid. March 1964. On or about 21th. May 1964, Swan released a single pairing "Sie Liebt Dich (She Loves You)" with the same master recording "I'll Get You" that served as the B side to "She Loves You". The record lists the group as "DIE BEATLES" on its A side label. All of copies of the single have white labels with "DON'T DROP OUT" and have "VIRTUE STUDIO" hand etched markings in their trail off areas. All but one of the variations have red print. None have production credits.
Swan used three different factories to press the initial issues of the single in 1963:

(C) RCA Custom in Rockaway, New Jersey

Swan did not prepare a picture sleeve for "Sie Liebt Dich".
Swan Records was a mid-20th century United States based record label, founded in 1957, based in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. It had a subsidiary label called Lawn Records. Swan came into the spotlight after Brian Epstein leased The Beatles' song "She Loves You" and it became an American number 1 hit in January 1964. Swan was also given the rights to the German version of "She Loves You", "Sie Liebt Dich" which peaked at #97 in 1964.
