THE BEATLES: Sgt Peppers UK 1st press Mono Vinyl VG+ Cut Out & Inner XTRA DOT.
PLAY TESTED TUES 15TH FEB
The occasional static, very light ‘crackle and pop’, inc on intros to either side. Three heavier ‘clicks’ during early stages of She’s Leaving Home’. Very quiet between most tracks. Absolutely no skips or jumps, and the overall audio is minimum VG+/excellent. A great listen, and certainly nothing to spoil the listening experience.
Not only does this first mono press copy of Pepper, come with all original inserts in minimum VG Plus condition, but it is also one of the minority that was printed with an EXTRA DOT on the side 1 label.
It reads ‘SOLD IN.U.K. SUBJECT TO’ etc
This printing error didn’t last long (some stereo copies also have the same error), with the majority pressed without the error.
The vinyl is in minimum VG+ condition, with just a small number of marks/hairlines present, with most really only visible under strong light.
Equally, the labels are clean, bright and with just a small number of spindle marks, with most only visible if the disc is held at a certain angle.
The original ‘patents applied for’ red and white ‘fool’ inner is also in minimum VG+ condition. Free of rips or seam splits, and as the photos show, with just general age ware.
The original cardboard cut outs are complete, show no signs of creasing, and is once again minimum VG+.
The g/f laminated sleeve is also VG+, with just a small number of normal age related scuffs. There are no splits/cuts, is free of graffiti, and retains a strong legible spine.
I’d describe the whole package as minimum VG+, some might say excellent, but I tend to be conservative in my gradings. If you check my feedback, which is 100% positive, and is largely for vinyl, you’ll see comments such as ‘as described’, so rest assured, my description is accurate, and you certainly won’t be disappointed.
