this collectable 1964 FIRST PRESS on the RAINBOW CAPITOL label entitled "Someting New" was Released on the heels of the blockbuster smash "A Hard Days Night" In the frenzy of Beatlemania! This rare first pressing MONO edition offers different song mixes from the stereo release and contains a more solid punch in the production.

Because United Artists, who produced the film "A Hard Day's Night" had rights to the album, Capitol was prevented from issuing the soundtrack and calling it "A Hard Day's Night". Instead Capitol who had stereo mixes of the tracks that United Artists didn't, have came up with "Something New". For Something New Capitol used 8 tracks from the UK version of A Hard Day's Night along with "Komm, Gib Mir Deine Hand" (a German recording of "I Want To Hold Your Hand") and the 2 tracks from the UK Long Tall Sally EP not issued on Meet The Beatles.

 
Record is in (VG+) or better condition with a few light paper scuffs that do not effect play. The album cover is in (VG+) condition and has some very light traces of wear on both sides. The seams show signs of wear with one small 2 inch" split on the bottom and light damage to corners, overall in very good condition.

(MY GRADING STANDARDS ARE THE FOLLOWING:)

[SS] Still Sealed - in factory-fresh sealed condition.

[NM] Near Mint - a near perfect copy, probably unplayed record.

[NM-] Near Mint Minus - same as near mint but vinyl LP only shows one small imperfection that does no effect play.

[VG+] Very Good Plus -  only superficial signs of use that don’t affect play. Only well cared  for records will grade out to VG+.

[VG] Very Good - a used, reasonable copy. There will be obvious signs of wear and the possibility of light surface  noise  between tracks or during quiet passages, but still quite nice.

[VG-] Very Good Minus - significant wear and marks and usually quite noticeable surface noise.
