After 35 years of collecting I am now beginning that process of downsizing my music collection. I will be selling off my 4,000 record albums, 2,000 compact discs (w/many box sets, hundreds of 45 rpm’s (including Beatles and others, picture sleeves), cassettes and concert posters.

Synopsis: On the Beatles "White Album", John Lennon turns in two of his best ballads with "Dear Prudence" and "Julia"; scours the Abbey Road vaults for the musique concrète collage "Revolution 9"; pours on the schmaltz for Ringo's closing number, "Good Night"; celebrates the Beatles cult with "Glass Onion"; and, with "Cry Baby Cry," rivals Syd Barrett. McCartney doesn't reach quite as far, yet his songs are stunning -- the music hall romp "Honey Pie," the mock country of "Rocky Raccoon," the ska-inflected "Ob-La-Di, Ob-La-Da," and the proto-metal roar of "Helter Skelter." Clearly, the Beatles' two main songwriting forces were no longer on the same page, but neither were George and Ringo. Harrison still had just two songs per LP, but it's clear from "While My Guitar Gently Weeps," the canned soul of "Savoy Truffle," the haunting "Long, Long, Long," and even the silly "Piggies" that he had developed into a songwriter who deserved wider exposure. And Ringo turns in a delight with his first original, the lumbering country-carnival stomp "Don't Pass Me By." None of it sounds like it was meant to share album space together, but somehow The Beatles creates its own style and sound through its mess. *

International Buyers – Please Note:

Import duties, taxes, and charges are not included in the item price or shipping cost. These charges are the buyer's responsibility. Please check with your country's customs office to determine what these additional costs will be prior to bidding or buying. Additionally, there is a $1.75 fee for processing any international transactions, this fee is due to an extra trip to the post office to receive an international rate quote to give the buyer and then the other to mail the package itself. There is also additional paperwork that needs to be completed to international transactions (e.g. Customs Declaration form).

PAYMENT

Winning bid, please pay by the FIFTH day following the auction close. PAYPAL is the preferred payment vehicle which allows a buyer to complete payment the day of the auction. which allows for expedited shipping., I will send you (the buyer) an invoice the day of the auction. That being the case, the invoice will default with “Media Mail”, if you want otherwise then please let me know immediately so that we don’t have to have invoices voided.

GRADING GUIDLINES

I do not use any “modified” versions of grading. I use the true tried and tested Goldmine grading system. There is no need to confuse buyers therefore I use the grading scale that has been successful for thirty years. Unless otherwise stated, our products are VISUALLY graded with the aid of a bright 150W light bulb. I grade VERY conservatively, in order to ensure that buyers are happy. All flaws worth noting to potential buyers (scratches, MINOR warps, cut out holes, saw marks, split cover seams, writing, etc.) will be listed in the item descriptions in an attempt to avoid any, and all, surprises. Keep in mind, or be aware, that many import picture sleeve 45’s had jackets that were different than the U.S. releases as they look like a jacket but do not have three sides glued together.

·      M (Mint): unopened record or compact disc.

·        NM (Near Mint); Vinyl that appears to have never been played. There are simply NO visible blemishes on the vinyl/disc or jacket/case

·        VG++: Occasionally I will use this one if the item is NM, but I don’t feel comfortable grading it that way as there might be a small blemish on it.

·        VG+ (or EX); Except for a few minor things, this would be Near Mint. This will show slight light signs of wear including light signs of scuff or scratches that DO NOT affects the listening experience. A VG+ cover might have some very minor seam wear or a split (less than ONE inch long)

·        VG: More marks/scratches only minor, nothing deep, no loud clicks or pops. This type of material will not be sold by this seller. Groove wear and light scratches are evident. Surface noise is heard but it is not overwhelming. Minor writing, tape or stickers are visible.
