Description

The Beatles: The Collection was a vinyl boxed set of every Beatles album remastered at half speed from the original stereo master recordings, except for Magical Mystery Tour which was mastered from Capitol Records' submasters with the last three tracks in rechanneled stereo.[1]

Released with much anticipation in early October 1982, The Collection was lauded by critics and Beatles fans worldwide for the superb sound, and sold-out completely within the first year. 

Each album was pressed on black vinyl by the Victor Company of Japan. The album covers were replaced with photographs of tape boxes and log sheet. The original album covers were included in a booklet which also featured a certificate of authenticity as this was a limited edition collection.  #11,653.

Also includes a "Geo-Disc" which is a 12 inch plastic platter used to align and set your stylus and cartridge to a transcription deck . Original Master Records are Limited Edition, state-of-the-art records of spectacular and unparalleled audio quality.  Hearing one played through your own stereo system can virtually duplicate the experience of being in the recording studio and listening to your favorite recording artists perform their greatest works. They give you all of the pure, natural sounds that you've never heard before, plus freedom of such annoyances as surface noise and distortion.  This impressive set was released worldwide in September 1982. The set of half-speed mastered records was presented in a handsome black box with gold foil printing. Each set is sequentially numbered and includes a beautiful 38-page booklet containing the artwork for each album with the official booklet incorporating a numbered certificate of authenticity.   Each of the virgin vinyl discs are protected in a special dust free protective inner sleeve and a gatefold card MFSL Custom Picture outer sleeve displaying the master tape of the A and B sides for each particular recording, plus dates on which the recordings took place.
