Description
This is an original UK very early vinyl pressing of the classic self titled 'The Beatles' album - or The White Album as its better known.
COMPLETE TOPLOADER!!!
On Apple Records ref : PMC7067/ PMC7068 - MONO Pressing Bracketed matrices on labels are XEX709 / XEX710 / XEX711 / XEX712
Matrices in the runoff grooves are as follows:
Side 1 : XEX709-1 additional stampers '00' at 3 o clock and '1' at 9 o clock Side 2 : XEX710-1 additional stampers 'RA' at 2 o clock and '1' at 9 o clock Side 3 : XEX711-4 additional stampers 'GRM' at 3 o clock and '1' at 9 o clock Side 4 : XEX712-1 additional stampers 'AH' at 3 o clock and '2' at 9 o clock
The Records:
Labels are clean and free from any markings other than spindle wear when the record is turned to the light Have the "Sold in the UK subject to resale price conditions, see price list" text Have "Mfd. in the UK" text Have "An E.M.I. Recording" which was added very quickly after original release Vinyls are VG/EX,
Side 1 VG/EX plays great - there are some visible surface marks but nothing more serious than a little crackle only noticeable between tracks here and there. I have played it all the way through using high quality turntable and speakers and it is a joy to behold :) - only light crackle, no skips, jumps, nasty clicks or pops
Side 2 : VG no skips or jumps, crackle which isnt intrusive though some clicks in quieter parts...or jumps or skips, one section of Julia has some pops
Side 3 : EX very little interference on this side, light crackle in a few places at worst
Side 4 : G/VG - Ive given it this as theres a very short skip just at the start of Goodnight, musically you dont miss much at all. I have quite a sensitive stylus, may not be an issue on others. Revolution 9 is a little clicky too unless its part of the "song" ...difficult to tell with that one :D. I'd imagine a lot of people have wanted to miss the track out over the years, not sure what Lennon was thinking with it, just my opinion ;) Before Revolution 9 it plays great
Both records have no warp of any kind
The Sleeve:
Numbered sleeve No. 0178001 Top Loading - made by Garrod and Lofthouse International Ltd Embossed 'The Beatles' writing Printed and Mde in Great Britain Fully Laminated, inside sleeve side side foldovers A little yellowed with age and a few hairline creases, no splits at all on any spines though side spine has turned in on itself - but is still perfectly legible Says "The Beatles Stereo PCS 7067 Mono PMC 7067" ...the labels on this one indicate the mono version I'd grade this as an EX-
Inner Sleeves are the correct Black single side hole inners. They both are creased but no splits on the seams which is a miracle Both have slight tears from the cente ring though, hopefully the pics will pick this up. Grade as Good
All 4 Picture inserts are MINT
Poster / lyric sheet is an EX - theres a few ageing spots on the lyric side and some slight creasing but this is in great shape!!!
