THE BEATLES "WITH THE BEATLES"

UK PARLOPHONE RECORDS PCS 3045

Matrices end 2 and 2, 'THE PARLOPHONE CO LTD.' perimeter text, NO "sold in The UK"

FIRST EVER PRESSING!

○○○○○○○○○○○○○○○○○○○○○○○○○○

A 1963 VINTAGE FIRST UK PRESSING from the brilliant BEATLES, who were regulars in the recording studio at the time - and due to their exploding popularity also touring and playing live. This LP is from a period of prolific writing and composing in the wake of the success of 'PLEASE PLEASE ME' and the hit singles that same year.

However, the record company was hurrying to get this album out, they made a mistake with a famous track the Fab Four covered: 'MONEY'. The credit was "JOBETE" when it should have been 'DOMINION' - and within days that was rectified.

Still not quickly enough to prevent sales for the initial copies, and these first pressed copies sold out.

Note that, like with the debut lp, the STEREO original issue was a special order, by mail or through certain shops that might facilitate audiophile orders!

Fewer were pressed, MONO copies are far more common.

ALSO; in the printing for the lables, another mistake was made with 'You Really Gotta Hold On Me', which was later corrected to '...Got A Hold On Me'

Like 'Please Please Me' in the STEREO edition, it was a new medium in 1963, only a few were special ordered by those who possessed a Stereo hi-fi.

This original RARE STEREO FIRST EDITION UK issue is in WONDERFUL shape!

CONDITION;

The VINYL grades EXCELLENT to NEAR MINT.

The disc has SUPERB shine. Playing wonderfully, a couple of very superficial light marks only.

A solid vintage vinyl collector's piece!

Labels are in EXCELLENT+ condition, no pen, stickers or tears. Few spindle lines.

The Garrod & Lofthouse Ltd. "Patents pending" FRONT LAMINATED 'FLIPBACK' COVER is VG++

Flat, a few handling creases in the laminate, very clean rear card with no pen or stains.

One anomaly is the rare SMALL 'STEREO' at top right.

On the rear text it's the early edition with 'You Really GOTTA Hold On Me" before it was corrected.

(Edit: Having checked with an expert on Beatles issues I'm informed that Parlophone did pair the different cover styles with early pressings, that wasn't unheard of at all)
