This is the rare UK 1st press of the 'White Album' by The Beatles. This press has the top opening sleeve, dark green Apple labels, ("An E.M.I. Recording") label text, 'Mfd in U.K.' on all labels. Original black inner sleeves, original four photographs and one original lyric poster sheet. The records have the earliest 1/1/1/1 matrix and in the original wonderful heavy weight vinyl. The sleeve has the low front letter press stamped number No. 0054393.
Record 1 (YEX 709-1 / 710-1) - is in Very Good++ condition. The vinyl has one or two very very minor surface scuffs. The dark green Apple labels are completely clean but with some very light & minor ring wear around each label edge. The green is bold, the white is bright, the black text is sharp.
Record 2 (YEX 711-1 / 712-1) - is in Very Good++ condition. The vinyl has one or two very very minor surface scuffs. The dark green Apple labels are completely clean but with some very light & minor ring wear around each label edge. The green is bold, the white is bright, the black text is sharp.
2 Black Inner Sleeves
These are both original issue black inner sleeves. One inner sleeve is in VG++ condition with very minor and light creasing with no splits or tears. The other is in VG with minor top opening edge damage and some creasing.
4 Photo
The 1st press four photographs are in Very Good++ condition. The colours are vivid and they all have their original just pressed sheen. The plain white back have only the slightest discolouration and each photo has one or two very small minor & light corner creasings but with edges that are firm and sharp.
1 Lyric Poster Sheet
The 1st press double sided poster is in Very Good - condition. The colours are bold but with some discolouration. The folds are now a little delicate with some spliting along the creases and at the cross over centers. There are four old tape stains down each side edge but now no longer any tape. This poster has faired the worsed out all the parts to this LP but still a welcome addition to this original set.
Gatefold Sleeve
The Garrod & Lofthouse top opening gloss laminated sleeve is letter press stamped number No. 0054393 is in Very Good ++ condition. The laminate has a bright gloss and it is completely clean. The overall white has slight discolouration and the opening edge has some light wear. Some very minor corner rounding and front left edge wear. The number and Beatles embossed text are sharp. On opening the inside images and text are unworn. The flipbacks are sealed and complete. The spine is firm and the sleeve still feels very solid
This is now a very rare and hard to find record set and to find it in this condition is remarkable. I only have one so don't miss out . . .
This Album is fantastic sounding record with some great tracks. A REAL GEM. Don't miss out.
