Label : Apple (Deep Green Print)
Cat No : PMC 7067 & 7068
Matrix : XEX 709-1 / 710-1 / 711-1 / 712-1
Super Low Number No : 0004145
This is a rare UK 1st press of the 'White Album' by The Beatles. This press has the early top opening sleeve. With dark green Apple labels which have NO E.M.I. logo. But with 'Mfd In U.K.' and Sold In U.K. text on all 4 labels. It comes with it's black inner sleeves, four photograph A4 posters & large poster. The record vinyls have the earliest 1/1/1/1 matrix and are on wonderful heavy weight vinyl. The sleeve has the low front letter press stamped number No. 0004145.
VINYLS:
Record 1 - (XEX 709-1 / 710-1) - The vinyl is in Very Good Minus (VG -) condition. The vinyl has one or two of minor surface scuffs and marks on both sides. Slight warp to the vinyl but plays fine on my decks, other wise I would grade this vinyl a VG+. The dark green Apple labels are completely clean. The green is bold and the black text is sharp with NO EMI logo text.
Record 2 - (XEX 711-1 / 712-1) - The vinyl is in Very Good Minus (VG -) condition.
2 Black Inner Sleeves
Two original black inner sleeves are in VG condition with minor and light creasing also some small & minor opening edge tears.
4 A4 Photo Posters
The 1st press four photographs are in Very Good++ condition. The colours are vivid and they all have their original just pressed gloss sheen. The plain white backs have only the slightest discolouration and each photo has one or two very small minor & light corner creasing's. George has a small tape stain on one corner. All are still firm and sharp.
1 Lyric Poster Sheet
Large fold out poster is complete, but is coming apart at it fold creases. Some corner folding and the top third section is separate from the bottom. Could be repaired but I prefer to leave it in it's original condition. No pen or tears.
Gatefold Sleeve
The Garrod & Lofthouse top opening gloss laminated sleeve is letter press stamped with the VERY LOW number No.0004145 and is in Very Good Plus (VG+) condition. The laminate has a bright and clean gloss, but with one or two minor creases. The overall white has slightly aged with light discolouration. Also some minor corner rounding. On the front the low number and Beatles embossed text are sharp and tidy. On opening the sleeve the bottom inner spine is split by no more than 1.5inches. The inside black and white images and text are unworn and sharp to read. The flipbacks are sealed and complete. The out side spine has three top surface laminations lift but still feels solid.
The value of this LP is in the low numbered sleeve. Last year I sold a copy of this LP in similar condition with the front number in the 0008000s. It reach the higher £300s. Let hope you get a bargain and good luck with your bidding. This is now a very rare and hard to find record set and with this super rare low number, remarkable. . .
I only have one so don't miss out . . .
This album is fantastic sounding record with some great tracks.
A REAL BEATLES GEM so don't miss out.
