Description
Per Wikipedia, Beatles for Sale is the fourth studio album by The Beatles. It was released in December 1964 in United Kingdom on EMI's Parlophone label. The album was not widely available in the US until 1987. This particular album was purchased at a Half Price bookstore in the early 1990's and has seen hard times. The album has a fold-out Unipack-style that opens from the inside sleeve. Please refer to the photos which show moderate wear on the front and back covers. There are crease marks and significant wear along the title and bottom edges. The back cover shows signs of disc wear. There is no paper sleeve, but the recording is enclosed in an anti static vinyl sleeve to prevent dust accumulation. The inner covers have iconic photos of the Beatles and song listings and recording information. It also has the name of the previous owner (for their 15 seconds of fame). I give the package a liberal Fair-Good rating. The recording was cleaned and tested using Audacity. There was no skipping of the tracks, but there are noticeable "clicks" on 5 of the 14 songs. The disc surfaces show moderate scuffs but no detectable scratches to the touch. The labels are intact with no tears, markings or moisture damage. The album has obvious signs of wear from over the years, but still plays well. This is not an "audiophile" recording, but it is not ready for the dust bin and can still bring pleasure to the listener.
