THE BEATLES WITH THE BEATLES PARLOPHONE PCS 3045 1963 1st press yellow & black Stereo with jobete credit for money,and the "gotta" misspelling - matrix numbers YEX 110-2/111-2 . G&L flipback sleeve with LARGE stereo,and "gotta" misspell and original Emitex lined inner Please see photos for details - track listings - and overall condition GRADING/CONDITION Discs(s) somewhere between EX nd EX+ Has a few too many surface marks to be an EX+ but they are all light in content and the whole album plays great with an uncluttered reproduction,and you can really tell the difference between the mono and stereo versions. Labels EXCELLENT (Clean with LIGHTISH spindlemarks/wear) Sleeve EXCELLENT+ A really nice sleeve - there are no rips or tears -no-one has ever written on it or stuck anything to it,the front is very clean with no cracking to the laminate ,the spine is uncrushed with clear writing, the rear white card is clean with only a very light darkening which is slightly more pronounced around the opening,the flipbacks are tight and clean with onlt 1 small crack,overall a fine example with only lightish wear. SYNOPSIS With the Beatles is a sequel of the highest order — one that betters the original by developing its own tone and adding depth. While it may share several similarities with its predecessor — there is an equal ratio of covers-to-originals, a familiar blend of girl group, Motown, R&B, pop, and rock, and a show tune that interrupts the flow of the album — With the Beatles is a better record that not only rocks harder, it's considerably more sophisticated. They could deliver rock & roll straight ("I Wanna Be Your Man") or twist it around with a little Latin lilt ("Little Child," one of their most underrated early rockers); Lennon and McCartney wrote sweet ballads (the achingly gorgeous "All I've Got to Do") and sprightly pop/rockers ("All My Loving") with equal aplomb; and the propulsive rockers ("It Won't Be Long") were as richly melodic as slower songs ("Not a Second Time"). Even George Harrison's first recorded song, "Don't Bother Me," is a standout, with its wonderfully foreboding minor-key melody. Since the Beatles covered so much ground with their originals, their covers pale slightly in comparison, particularly since they rely on familiar hits (only "Devil in Her Heart" qualifies as a forgotten gem). But for every "Roll Over Beethoven," a surprisingly stiff reading of the Chuck Berry standard, there is a sublime moment, such as Lennon's soaring interpretation of "You Really Got a Hold on Me," and the group always turns in thoroughly enjoyable performances. Still, the heart of With the Beatles lies not in the covers, but the originals, where it was clear that, even at this early stage, the Beatles were rapidly maturing and changing, turning into expert craftsmen and musical innovators.Record Grading All of our Records are graded VISUALLY UNDER A STRONG LIGHT AND ARE ALL CLEANED AND PLAYED BEFORE LISTING, and for ease we use the UK Record Collectors Guide (The Bible) grading system as outlined below for GUIDANCE.We will also use the suffixes of (+/-) for items that can be classed as between 2 categories. MINT The Record itself is in Brand new condition OR with no surface marks or deterioration in sound Quality.The cover and inserts are in perfect condition EXCELLENT (EX) The Record shows signs of having been played,but there is very little lessening of sound quality.The cover and packaging might have slight wear and/or creasing. VERY GOOD (VG) The record has obviously been played many times ,but displays no major deterioration in sound quality,despite noticeable surface marks and the occasional light scratch.Normal wear and tear on the cover or extra items,without major defects is acceptable. GOOD,FAIR,POOR,BAD Descriptions getting progressively worse until all you end up with is an ashtray ..The only records we will ever sell in these categories are for collection filling,and will be adequately described. Problem Solving Incorrect Grading The best way to buy a record is to pick it up study the surface of the vinyl and then make a decision,but as we all know this is not possible across the internet , and we all have to rely upon the judgment of others, and on occasions opinions differ,as responsible people we accept this,and always view such opinions with sympathy.Our policy is a simple one , we offer an unconditional refund including Post and Packaging costs for any items that do meet our grading in your opinion,we may sometimes ask for the item to be returned for evaluation,but in the main it is uneconomic for us to do this.and you get to keep the record for free.
