Very limited edition UK double vinyl pressing from 2011 of a Strange Fruit compilation of all 4 mind-blowing Birthday Party Peel Sessions, from 1980-1982 (I believe this is essentially a reissue of a CD-only compilation from 1990, itself long out of print). Pressed on heavyweight HQ vinyl; 19 songs in all, 16 Peel Sessions recordings, plus the last 3 tracks are live recordings totally unique to this edition.
These incredible historic sessions consist of many familiar tracks from "Prayers on Fire" and "Junkyard", many of which are considerably more kick-ass versions here (in my humble opinion). More importantly though, there are incredible rare tracks only found here such as "Rowland Around in That Stuff" (a personal favorite), "Bully Bones", "Pleasure Heads Must Burn", "Pleasure Avalanche", an early version of RS Howard's "Marry Me(Lie!Lie!)", and their skull-crushing cover of the Stooges "Loose"(!!!). Essential stuff.
