The truth is that this album was rare when it first came out. "American Music" (Rollin' Rock LP021) was issued on the independent Rollin' Rock Records label in 1980 and there was a single pressing of about 4,000 copies.

The Southern California-based Blasters were much-loved purveyors of back-to-basics roots rock -- or as they called it, "American Music." Guitarist Dave Alvin remains popular as a solo artist to this day. The full lineup featured on this LP includes: Phil Alvin on vocals, guitar and harmonica; Dave Alvin on lead guitar; John Bazz on bass; and Bill Bateman on drums. The Blasters' next album would be on the Slash label with some of the same songs, an expanded lineup and a more polished sound.

The album has only been handled and played by the seller, an avid music collector. The LP comes in a plastic record cover. Grading is very conservative.
