THE BLOSSOMS :   MOVE ON  /  HE PROMISED ME.    UK.78rpm. Capitol.CL.14833.  This Fine Extremely Rare UK Pressed 78 Disc From 1957 Is In Beautiful Excellent Plus Condition Throughout. A Top Copy. Find Another!!   A Los Angeles Based Girl Group Comprising Of Fanita James, Gloria Jones, Annette Williams And Her Sister Nanette Williams With Two Other Girls Started Out As 'The Dreamers' In 1954 Before Changing Their Name When A Capitol Records Executive Noticed Their Different Skin Tones Saying They Looked Like A Boquet - Which Led To Them Being Called 'The Blossoms'. Nannette Left The Group In 1958 To Be Replaced By Darlene Love who Also Became Lead Singer. The Group Became More Successful In The 1960s As A Three Piece - Fanita James, Darlene Love And Jean King. They Recorded 'He's A Rebel' For Phil Spector, Only For Him To Credit The Song To 'The Crystals' As They Were His Number One Group At The Time. The Blossoms Seemed To Have More Success As Backing Singers Appearing With Elvis Presley On His 1968 NBC TV Special. They Also Backed Doris Day On 'Move Over Darling', Betty Everett On 'Shoop, Shoop Song (It's In His Kiss) And Bobby (Boris) Pickett On 'Monster Mash' Plus Many More.
