Description
Extremely rare original 1961 first pressing of The Chants' great 45 of "Respectable" b/w "Kiss Me Goodbye" on Tru-Eko Records from Brooklyn, NY. I purchased this record in 1961 and it is from my personal collection.
This song was actually released three times in 1961, twice on Tru-Eko (3567 and 3577) and then on MGM 13008 when they picked up the master for distribution. This is the first pressing (3567) of the first Tru-Eko release with N-1 matrix numbers.
I am grading the record as "VG/VG+" because I played it a lot when I bought it; it plays well but has surface noise; the label has a micro white spec under the logo; my name is written on the flip side label and deadwax (see photos).
Vinyl grading is based on the following criteria:
“SS” Still Sealed – For the collector that demands nothing but perfection.
“M” Mint - a near perfect or unplayed record.
“NM” Near Mint - in factory fresh condition, like new.
“EX+” close to like new with only superficial signs of use that don't affect play. Will satisfy all but the most vain and demanding collector.
“EX” a used, reasonable copy. Shows slight signs of wear.
“VG+” There will be obvious signs of wear and the possibility a few skuffs and/or light surface noise between tracks or during quiet passages, but still quite nice.
“VG” significant wear and marks and usually quite noticeable surface noise, still plays great.
