Description
The Clamber – Choose the Way / Everywhere you go 7” vinyl release on privately pressed Clamber Records (D.J.M Entertainments) from 198? (CLA1).
You are bidding for an original copy of this collectable single by The Clamber.
Another obscure band for who very little has been documented. Presumably from Essex due to the Basildon contact address on the sleeve, the band left behind one known single containing two great tracks featuring jangly guitars and trumpets which is now highly sought after by collectors of the indie pop / C86 genre.
The internet references about the band describe them as somewhere between Friday Club, early Style Council, Ala Pana Fuzo and Who the Hell Does Jane Smith Think She Is - you may be able to judge for yourself if you find the link to an upload of Choose the Way.
Visually the vinyl is in nice condition with just a few minor marks visible under a good light and some edge warping visible when the record is on the turntable (this has probably been like this from new and is simply the cheap private pressing ?). Audibly play is not affected; there is a little background noise during the run in / out and an occasional click or pop, but overall this is a very collectable copy which I would grade it as Vg+ due to the visual imperfections, but it plays better than this grade to my ears.
The labels are nice and clean with little evidence of any spindle marking so I grade them as Ex.
The rare picture sleeve is also in nice condition. It has some minor wear in the form of light scratching / indentation and storage marking, but no serious defects so I would grade this as Ex-
Overall then a really nice copy of this rare and collectable single graded as Vg+/Ex- (Vinyl/Sleeve).
