The Clash, self-titled first Clash album, Epic Records JE 36060, original 1979 US reissue of their debut album released in the UK in 1977 on CBS Records.  This is the rare Sterling Pressing with "Nothing can change/The shape of things to clash…." matrix etch, and includes the bonus promo 45 of "Gates of the West/Groovy Times" that was included with early original releases.

Rare version purchased at time of release.  Enthusiastic playing of this LP when purchased makes it less than perfect – it still has generally good sound quality, but several skips give the LP fair playability.  The bonus 7” single, however, is in excellent condition with great sound quality.

CONDITION:
Condition/Grading:  Not professionally graded.  I have graded to the best of my ability using Goldmine guidelines.  Grading is done by listening to LP and visually inspecting LP & cover.

LP: Fair + (F+) Playability clear, with minimal surface noise.  A few skips on several tracks (Side One: 1 skip Track #1; 3 skips Track #2/ Side Two: 1 skip Track #1; 2 skips Track #2; 4 skips Track #4. Numerous light scratches and scuffs Sides One and Two.  No spindle wear.

Cover/Sleeve: Very Good (VG) COVER:  Bright with good gloss and no marks.  2” crease at bottom left corner and a few small scattered creases along top edge and spine front and back.  Light overall scratches front and back. Scattered light paper scuff to edges and light bump/scuff to corners.  Light ring wear at top.  No seam splits or separation.  Original paper sleeve is clean and undamaged. SLEEVE:  Original lightweight white paper sleeve shows wrinkling to one side and heavy crease to bottom corner.  No seam splits.

Bonus 7” Single: Excellent Minus (E-): Excellent sound Sides A & B, with no skips or audible surface noise.  Label and sleeve clean, with small minor numbered pen marks on Side A.  No spindle wear.
