We use our own grading system including plus and minus, so from our highest grade (1) they flow as follows: From 1+ to 1 to 1- to 2+ to 2 to 2- to 3+ and so on.
We aim to give you a frank and honest appraisal of the record and cover condition, please bear in mind that these are not new items, the majority have been in long term storage and most of our records are many decades old. All our records are checked and photographed under bright LED lighting,

All records are removed from the paper sleeve for safe transport prior to shipping.

GRADE: RECORD RECORD COVER AND INSERTS GRADE 1 The record is glossy and shows virtually no signs of being played. The cover/sleeve/inserts are in excellent condition GRADE 2 The record shows signs of being occasionally played but is still glossy, it has some light marks, not enough to degrade sound quality. The cover/sleeve/inserts are in very good condition, the spine is intact. They have very light signs of edge/spine/corner wear, creasing or ring wear. GRADE 3 The record has been played a fair amount and has numerous minor marks, it retains a good sound quality.  The cover/sleeve/inserts are in reasonable condition,  They have minor signs of edge/spine/corner wear, creasing or ring wear. GRADE 4 The record has been played many times and has numerous marks/scratches. There may be a few tracks which have picked up some light audible noise, but it retains very reasonable sound quality.  
The cover/sleeve/inserts have some signs of edge/spine/corner wear, creasing or ring wear. GRADE 5 The record has obviously been played many times.  It plays through easily despite noticeable marks and/or minor scratches. There will be some tracks where you hear a light crackling. There may be light warping. The cover/sleeve/inserts have noticeable signs of edge/spine/corner wear, creasing or ring wear. GRADE 6 The record plays through fine but has been well used and the sound quality has deteriorated, it has significant marks and/or scratches, there are significant signs of spindle wear.  There may be noticeable warping. The cover/sleeve/inserts have significant signs of edge or corner wear, creasing or ring wear and scuffing to the edges and spine. There may be minor tears. GRADE 7 The record is playable but will have serious scratches, sound quality has deteriorated and clicks can be heard on some tracks when playing. There may be significant warping. The cover/sleeve/inserts have serious signs of edge/spine/corner wear/creasing/ring wear/scuffing/tears GRADE 8 The record is just about playable but will have major scratches, clicks can be heard when playing, it may even jump. There may be significant warping. The cover/sleeve/inserts have major signs of edge or corner wear/creasing/ring wear/scuffing/tears/split seams.
