ORIGINAL UK CHARISMA PERSPECTIVE LP
The Mod scene still gathers at a pace today thanks to many modern bands, paying the upmost respect and attention to detail the Mod ethic demands. No other band could be held up as a better blueprint for the art of Mod than The Creation. Their exciting, powerful music was never fully appreciated in their own day but time has been kind to the Creation and their influence continues to grow and grow.
One brightening dawn of a summer's day in 1966, The Creation and manager Tony Stratton Smith crept into Great Yarmouth after an overnight haul from Blackpool. Somwhat oddly, they spent the next hour canvassing early-opening garages for aersosol cans of pain they could buy, thereby and very persuasively, breaking a local Sunday by-law.
That night, on the stage of the A.B.C., The Creation collared a Walker Brothers audience and made it their own. They introduced their famous 'action painting' finale, with singer Kenny Pickett making lightning images, then destroying them by fire. Eddie Phillips had some time previously introduced the bowed guitar to the rock scene, first heard on record on their hit 'Making Time' and later 'Painter Man'.
The Creation - who also included drummer Jack Jones and bassist Bob Garner - were always exciging innovators, both musically and visually. They were one of the first bands attempting to make music a total theatrical experience. Time has not taken the edge off their material, and in their choice of material not self-penned, such as 'Hey Joe' (some months later a smash for Jimi Hendrix), they showed a remarkable prescence.
The band was short-lived, splitting by the summer of '67. This album is a record of that brief span, and of a band contemporary with, and admired by, The Who and many others. The Creation invented, and were followed, even now. They sound fresh and contemporary; an indication of a strong band too soon diluted, and ended.

VINYL
The vinyl is in super condition, just a couple of very very light hairline marks when viewed under a bright light, and it plays fine. It still retains a beautiful original as new sheen.
LABELS
The labels are clean and bright on both sides, no scuffs, stickers or writing, no discernable spindle marks.
COVER
The sleeve was printed and made by E.J. Day. There is a small-seam split on the centre bottom edge and just a tiny bit of corner wear. No bad creasing. Clean throughout with no stickers or writing.
