Description
Superb vinyl example of 'Three Imaginary Boys', the 1979 debut album from The Cure.
This is a first UK pressing of the classic LP and the package includes a set of three special postcards.
Released in 1979 on the Fiction Records label the album features their first single "10:15 Saturday Night".
The catalogue number is 'FIX 1' and the inscriptions in the run-out grooves are 'FIX 1 A//1' on the first side and 'FIX 1 B//1' on the second side. Also inscribed is 'THE GATWICK SOUND' on side one and 'STRAWBERRY' on side two.
I have always taken great care with my records. I replace them in their sleeves and store them upright pressed firmly between other albums. As a result the vinyl is in excellent (near mint) condition with scarcely a surface mark. There is certainly nothing that affects the audible content, which is remarkably free of clicks or pops.
The outer and inner sleeves are also in very good shape, although there are some minor blemishes to the outer sleeve (some small creases around the opening edge and spine, very slight scuffing to the top and bottom edges and a tiny horizontal tear (less than 1cm long) near the centre of the opening edge) to report.
The three postcards still look as good as when I bought the album back in 1979, with only almost imperceptible 'dog ears' at some of the corners.
