The Damned
The Black Album Project LP This test pressing LP is an enigma. It was pressed by Lyntone. It's a sampler of tracks from the four sides issued on the official release. Normally at this time, all pressings including other Black Album test pressings, were pressed by EMI as Chiswick had an agreement with them. This LP project was given the cat.# DAM 1 and is not to be confused with the same catalogue number used for "The Best of The Damned". Why it was pressed, neither Ted or Roger can remember, only an assumption that impatience prevailed as the turnaround time from Lyntone was much quicker than EMI's at that time. This is extremely rare item, although I have had another copy found in Ted's hoard, there were less than a handful ever pressed. CONDITION VERY GOOD - as per photographs [please study] - has been ultrasonically cleaned, some light surface marks but plays well throughout PROVENANCE - see echo2ndhand's about page P&P - will always hold and combine postage if required - item sent in a card backed envelope - see echo2ndhand's about page Q's - just ask! - this item is from the Rick Rogers archives. Rick as many of you maybe aware, while working as PR for Stiff Records was reluctantly appointed Tour Manager for The Damned during the infamous Sex Pistols' Anarchy Tour, he later became their manager, and oversaw their regrouping firstly as the Doomed, and then The Damned leading to the album Machine Gun Etiquette. His company ‘Trigger’ started out as a PR company with clients including the Chiswick records acts such as Motörhead, The Gorillas and Radiators from Space. He then branched out into management with The Damned, The Specials, the 2 Tone label, and later The Soup Dragons. He also worked as Marketing Manager for Big Life Records where he masterminded the release of De La Soul’s ‘3 Foot High and Rising’ album. Rick has a long and interesting career in the music business , so any item sold here has rock solid history surrounding it...bid with confidence
