ACCORDING TO DISCOGS THIS IS CLOSE TO THE HOLY GRAIL OF STRANGE DAYS. IF YOU WANT THE ACTUAL FIRST PRESSING OF THIS ALBUM, THIS IS IT.
ANYWAY, FROM DISCOGS: - Who shows an almost identical one sold for $150 on Discogs and there is another top seller that has one listed on eBay for $300. Somehow he or she got my email somehow because I looked at his listing and is now sending me offers to buy at a $25 discount! WIERD!!!!!!
True first pressings, as here, have '(MON-1)' in runout of side two. 'MON-1' side two mastering is reportedly closer to the master than subsequent issues, and does sound brighter with better detail. The MON-1 side two mastering is also notable for a defect at the beginning of the side -- a fluttering drop-out in one channel during the guitar intro to "People Are Strange". For early, but not first, gold label Monarch issues that have "(MON-2)" or higher in the runout of side two, please refer to The Doors - Strange Days
A lyrics inner sleeve was included.
The left side of the label has no text at all.
'Stereo' in a broad font on the right hand side of the spindle hole.
