THE DOORS "THE DOORS" - MONO ELK 4007 Elektra Records
The LP need no introduction really - an all time rock classic! Released by RTI in California as part of the entire box set of Doors LPs, this is the first ever audiophile repressing of the original mono LP, which is incredibly rare. The limited edition of this new 180g pressing already makes it a collectors item!
They spent well over a year cleaning up the tapes to ensure this will be the definitive pressing. Jac Holzman (the founder of Elektra Records) and Bruce Botnick (the original Doors producer) have been hard at work in the studio. With the assistance of Mastering Engineer Bernie Grundman (who actually mastered the original albums and still has all of his original mastering notes!), they have transferred the original analog master tapes through Grundman’s all-tube console and all-tube cutting lathe. All the parties concerned with this project (and they are all taking it very seriously!) feel that this approach has allowed them to get the very best sound transferred to the lacquers.
This LP is the crown in the set of 7LPs, but it's available here individually to save rebuying albums you might already have on Mo Fi, DCC etc. This copy is brand new, never played, however the sleeve has a minor scuff where the heavy weight LP has pushed slightly against the cover (the beginnings of ringwear).
