SINGLE 45 RECORDS
M(10) PERFECT! Label, vinyl, sound, all perfect. Record will show no wear at all…
M-(9) Maybe a few smudges, some very fine sleeve marks, etc. All glossy vinyl. The record appears new at first glace, but a closer look reveals that it may have been played. It shows minimal wear if any. Will have an almost Full luster. Labels are like new, and should be Full of color (sleeve marks are those tiny scratches with no effect on sound)
Ex+(8) or Vg++(8) Better than VG+(7) but below NM. Although this record seems to have been played, it is in great condition. It is likely that this record has had only one previous owner who took good care of it. There may only be a few light traces of normal wear--A few sleeve marks or a few fine scratches. Sounds great!! UK: EX+
Vg+(7) Probably lots of sleeve marks, OR several fine scratches, OR one or two more serious scratches, OR scuffs. Often this will be an acceptable grade for Most collectors. Although this record seems to have been played, it's very nice/to Excellent condition. It is likely that this record has remained in a paper sleeve, and had been taken good care of it. Will show traces of normal wear on label, and/or light scuffs(But nothing that will take away the enjoyment of this). May or May not, will also have a few light rubmarks and/or several fine scratches(nothing you should feel). The sound of the record should still be strong. Possibly a bit of dirt on it, etc. Overall, a fine copy. No noticeable record noise. UK:EX
Vg(6) It has sleeve marks AND: numerous very fine scratches, or a few more serious scuffs. Still nice looking overall. May be noise in quiet passages, but still sounds good! Still some gloss. Label is beginning to show signs of wear, but not serious. UK: Ex-, Or VG++.
Vg-(5) LOTS of fine scratches and almost no gloss. OR a few serious scratches, OR scuffed. This record has visibly seen some play. It may have some scratches as well as writing on the label. Still this record plays well, assuring listening pleasure for years to come. Label is possibly worn. Plays with noise which doesn’t overwhelm the music. Gloss is possible, if the scratches are bad enough.UK: VG+
G+(4) COMPLETELY covered with fine scratches, OR a mix of fine and serious scratches or other defects. Label may be pretty used, but is generally readable. Plays with hiss, crackle or distortion, but not awful. It shows considerable wear, likely from years of play and perhaps changing hands UK:VG
G-(3) A filler. LOTS of serious scratches, definitely some audible. Noise is more prominent than the music. Label is BARELY readable. BUT: it plays ok…. This record shows a lot of wear and may have markings/sticker on label. It plays ok, but has visibly seen a lot of handling. Usually plays with noise. I don't believe I have ever listed a G3 record. UK: VG- Between G and F
F(2) Almost unacceptable. Plays through. Label seriously worn. UK: G
P(1) POOR Has repeative scratches, scratches, scratches etc. I will ALMOST NEVER list one like this
