Description
Up for auction is the very rare and original British punk rock album "Waikiki Beach Refugees" by The Flys, originally released in the U.K. on EMI Records (EMC 3249) in 1978.

Condition: The cover is still is very good condition. The front and back are generally clean and bright. No ring wear. Seams are generally good, not split, but as you can see from the photos, the upper four inches of the spine is heavily abraded, roughed up, with chipping losses (see photos). Aside from that blemish, the cover is very attractive and intact. It's hard to grade this cover as it is clearly better than Very Good, so I would put it between Very Good & Very Good Plus overall. Judge the photos for yourself.
The vinyl is in pretty nice condition. Still retains much of its original glossy shine. No major scratches, but it does have a few very light hairlines and one very small light scuff, neither which affect the quality of playback--no skips, no repeating clicks. Labels are clean, no marks around spindle holes, indicating little previous play. I have owned this record for over 30 years, played it once then archived it un-played since then. Very well-preserved.
I have play-tested this record, and the sound quality is Excellent, very clear and generally clean sound. This is a classic British punk record that is hard to find and much sought after by serious collectors. Very few originals ever come up for sale. Grade the vinyl Excellent Minus (EX-). Nicely preserved.
