One of the great hypnotic slabs of psych; The Fox and "Hey! Mr Carpenter/Seek & You Shall Find" CBS 3381. It is for sale here as a shop bought stock copy as opposed to the more common industry promo - let's face it very very few people actually went out and bought this first time around in 1968. You can own it on compilation CDs and re-issues but nothing matches the raw hard tone of the original vinyl press on a CBS 45. Experimental insane and insistant - was a sitar ever used to greater effect on another pop record?
The record is in very good condition with some surface marking, a little crackle on the run in groove but once that acid thump kicks in it churns and boils as fresh, full and sumptuous as it did all those forty years ago. There is also what appears to be a quarter inch line in pencil on the label. It possibly indicates that, way back, the record was in a bargain bin for a pound...ah, thems were the days eh? Whatever way you cut it you probably know that "Hey! Mr Carpenter" is one of the all time enormous sounds in rock music. Own it before it owns you brother!
