THE GRATEFUL DEAD - Historic Dead - UK LP - Polydor Label      Background: Together Records had purchased the rights to a number of concert recordings from the Avalon, including some by the Grateful Dead, for a planned anthology of Bay Area bands. When the label collapsed, MGM paid the debt owed to the studio and assumed the tapes, releasing two original albums of live Dead material. Historic Dead is therefore not a bootleg album, but the band did not participate in its production. 
Historic Dead was preceded by another Sunflower Records album recorded at the Avalon in 1966, Vintage Dead (which I also currently have listed on eBay) . Both are believed to have been recorded on September 16, 1966. My copy is on the Polydor Label

CONDITION: I have not had an opportunity to play the records, but visual inspection shows all both Sides are in excellent  condition this is due to record having only being played a couple of times. This will be the case with most of my records as I used to copy them to other “recording formats”
The cover is also in Excellent condition throughout. No tears or splits, having been carefully stored - it has not seen daylight for at least 25 years!

As I am not a dealer,  all items offered for sale are from my personal collection. I do use my personal knowledge and the guidance available on the internet & eBay to describe my items accurately. It is important to me that buyers are happy with their purchases particularly those items which I have owned for a long time, and am often reluctant to sell.

I grade my records in line with  UK Record Collector grading system. As follows:

Mint: The record itself is in brand new condition with no surface marks or deterioration in sound quality. The cover and any extra items such as the lyric sheet, booklet or poster are in perfect condition.

Excellent: The record shows some signs of having been played, but there is very little lessening of sound quality. The cover and packaging might have slight wear and / or creasing.

Very Good: The record has obviously been played many times, but displays no major deterioration in sound quality, despite noticeable surface marks and the occasional light scratch. Normal wear and tear on the cover or extra items, without any major defects, is acceptable.

Good: The record has been played so much that the sound quality has noticeably deteriorated, perhaps with some distortion and mild scratches. The cover and contents suffer from folding, scuffing of edges, spine splits, discolouration etc.

Fair: The record is still just playable but has not been cared for properly and displays considerable surface noise: it may even jump. The cover and contents will be badly damaged or partly missing.

Poor: The record will not play properly due to scratches, bad surface noise etc.. The cover and contents will be badly damaged or partly missing.
