Please carefully read our entire listing to answer any questions you may have,  including discount shipping rates at end of listing; then contact us directly with any other information you may need.

WITH MUCH APPRECIATION TO ALL OUR CUSTOMERS:  If you have a question on orders received, please contact us.  We take Customer Service seriously, and want you to be satisfied.  Please give us 5 stars in each category through the feedback system, and we will be able to effectively continue to fulfill your passion for rare and collectible music!  We have served thousands of satisfied customers  - far more than our feedback records indicate - and our aim is to continue to do so.
We have a VPI machine and thoroughly clean all records.   Each order is carefully packaged by removing the LP from the jacket to avoid seam splits, use of  2/3 ml plastic cover sleeves over each LP and jacket, cardboard pad inserts, and placed in sturdy record mailers.

We mail all paid orders out once a week on Fridays/Saturdays.  Please keep in mind our listings are time consuming in detail and we are often traveling to find these gems, which at times delays the delivery schedule to Monday.   We strive to keep our shipping and handling costs as close to actual charges as reasonable.  We ALWAYS process and ship every paid order.  Please be aware we have no control over parcels once they are mailed from our local Post Office.

TO OUR REPEAT CUSTOMERS:  We are happy to hold orders to save on shipping.  Please pay your current invoice within five days of auctions ending and, if you request, we will hold your order and reflect a shipping discount for each additional order shipped together in the same parcel.

As always, thank you for your support!

Beyond rare -- the only one in existence. What we have featured here is a one of a kind garage psych museum piece by the famous garage band THE HALF TRIBE. Direct from the producer of the "Resurrection" label (from 30 years ago!) manufacturer of the earliest reissue pressings of 60's garage 'monsters' ...

This listing includes the following items, mastered by the pressing plant from some 30 years ago:

  • 7 1/2 ips REEL TO REEL TAPE ("studio" produced)
  • METAL STAMPER for sides "A" & "B"
  • TWO (14-inch) ACETATES for sides "A" & "B"

The above set makes for an amazing addition to your collection -

you will never see this set again !!

The Half Tribe (Of Mannasseh) were a teen-scene garage garage band from Reading Pennsylvania. They played up and down the eastern seaboard and were very popular in their day. Their music was a raw and primitive combination of reverb guitar led surf rock and early garage...imagine if you will a combination of the TRASHMEN meets the KINGSMEN and you get the HALF TRIBE. Their lead guitarist was J. M. Garroutte. He was backed by Dick "Zack" Zacker on rhythm, John "Hawk" Hawkins on bass, and Dick "Cran" Sammis on drums. Their vocalist was Nick Hilton.

The Half Tribe issued but one, now legendary, self financed and promoted album that they sold only at their shows ...It's a highly rated spirited affair that includes inspired takes, example in the standard sixties rocker "Money," and their cheesy dirge-cha-cha "Death Of An Angel," plus cool takes on the Rolling Stones' "Empty Heart," "Summertime," and the frat-rave-up standard "Wine Wine Wine." Of the twelve tracks here, four are surf jammers in the style of the Trashmen, and they deliver the surf cuts with a more rhythmic drive than the originals.

"Malegueña" is note-for-note the Trashmen's arrangement and lends itself to surf. This arrangement is a quintessential landlocked reverb guitar led showcase. Even if the performance is more damped than the Trashmen, the dry reverby rhythm guitar out front adds a unique dimension, but otherwise, it's a sound alike. "Baja" is a tame but infectious cover of the Astronauts' arrangement. The flexibility of this tune speaks to the quality of Lee Hazelwood's writing back then. As with "Malegueña," the dry tremelo rhythm guitar out front adds a unique dimension. Surf Battle" is odd to hear it done with a more damped finesse, and less drive. The Lively Ones original is such a powerhouse, where as this is more rhythmic and softly chunky. Very nice arrangement. "San Jose" is an interpretation of the Freddie King tune based on the Lively Ones' version. The Half Tribe work the tune from a rhythm perspective, giving it a fresh feel.

After a couple years of touring the North East, the Half Tribe called it quits, members regrouping and forming the legendary garage-punk outfit, the OTHER HALF, which had nothing to do with the Northern California 'Other Half' that contained Randy Holden...
