THE HOLLIES: Stay With The Hollies (Parlophone, PCS 3054, 1964, LP)
Okay, I liked the Hollies during the 1960s, specifically For Certain Because, so when pocket money allowed during the 1970s, I hunted out most of the early output. I wasn't that happy with this one because it was a bit more R&B-influenced and relied on covers bar a single Nash-Clarke-penned song.
This is an original 1964 copy in far better condition than most copies you see. For a start, the sleeve is a lot nicer than most, with only a couple of thumb creases in evidence on the front and some minor edge and corner creases - see the photos. There is the inevitable laminate scrinkage on the flipbacks but the unlaminated rear is brighter and cleaner than most with only light ring wear. The record plays with just some very light 'rumble' on run-ins and between tracks, this being barely noticeable. I could just say EX and I don't suppose anyone would quibble but I'll call it VG+ because it is clear that it has been played, only extremely well looked after.
* * * * Records generally have hairline or other surface marks from removal from/insertion into sleeves - these are not mentioned unless causing audible noise. Records are play tested unless stated and any defects over and above what should be expected of the generic Record Collector grading are described in the listing. Please look at the photos carefully for condition of sleeves, etc.

* * * * All items are from my own various collections and most have been in storage for 20+ years. Lockdowns (and various heart ops.) made me wonder why I have thousands of records that I will never choose to listen to again.
