Desirable, vocal ska and early rocksteady by The Itals (aka George Whyte, Lloyd Watt and Clovis Williams) backed by the mysterious Carib-beats. Some say it is actually Studio One house band, The Soul Brothers playing, so does that mean it's Jackie Mittoo on e-piano? Whatever, both sides are fabulous examples of this crossover genre. Counterpoint vocal harmony over a slower ska - early rocksteady backbeat fusing mento and calypso with American inspired jazz and r&b. Pumping rhythms with cool guitar solo on sideA and lots of jazzy horn solos on sideB. This release is also a rare Syd Bucknor production by Coxone Dodd's cousin and studio engineer ;) Great for DJs! Disc cut loud with big production sound. Original 3-prong centre intact. Our record grading: SEALED / M- / VG++ / VG+ / VG
RECORD - shiny, strong VG (as most copies are) and sounds great / hairlines and light scuffs / disc cut loud with big production sound / natural background noises / some soft crackle but remember, the original Jamaican recordings used by this label were never high quality / a couple of audible pops to fading outro of "Make Up Your Mind" side / original 3-prong centre intact
SLEEVE - not graded - generic white card sleeve has light wear
LABEL - bright looking with a few rub marks to 3-prong centre area / minimal age discoloration / a few faint old dirt marks from storage
