For auction is THE JAZZ MESSENGERS' self-titled record, on Columbia CL 897, Red-6-Eye MONO, DG, 1956. With, of course, Art Blakey, and Horace Silver, Donald Byrd, Hank Mobley and Doug Watkins.

SOUND: NM

It has been machine-cleaned and I listened to both sides completely. The playback is beautiful! The sound is very clean and crisp, with the most minimal surface noise, barely noticeable. Immensely enjoyable!

VINYL: NM

The vinyl is clean, glossy and newish. There are a couple faint and insignificant scuffs. The deep-grooved, "Red-6-Eye" labels are clean and in good condition.

JACKET: VG

The spine has some splitting and peeling paper, but the top and bottom edges are solid, in good shape. The two lower corners are very nice, while the upper two have a touch of softening/fraying. The front cover is clean and unmarked, with only minor, routine shelf-wear. The back cover has a few areas of yellowing/discoloration, but nothing major. There is a "property of" in pen across the top.

Every record I auction has been cleaned on a Nitty Gritty vacuum/cleaner. I played every record to determine if there are static, tics, pops, hisses, what have you. I endeavor to thoroughly report any extraneous audio "noise" or problems of any significance. Other than that, I will report on the general condition of each record, both vinyl and jacket, according to Goldmine standards, to the best of my ability. 

Every record is put into a new, clean sleeve insert. In the case of an interesting original sleeve insert, I'll include that in the sale.  

If you're into this stuff, you might want to save me to your seller's list and check back periodically. I'll be putting a lot of vintage jazz records up for auction.
