Description
This rather off-beat album features the vocals of The Kaplan Brothers. The self-titled lp was released on the private label KAP records in 1971 and does not have a number. There is no way to properly describe their sound except maybe lounge-psych. They play off-beat arrangements of such rock material as"Eleanor Rigby" and "Something" originally recorded by the Beatles. Add that to some wild originals complete with guitar, bass and wild bongo work and you have one of the strangest yet mesmerizing lps I have ever listed. The group has an album that came out in the late seventies that has quite a following. Don't have much information on this one but it should please their legion of fans. One of their albums has sold for well over a hundred dollars and I will place a little higher than usual minimum on this one due to it's incredibly strange appeal. Vinyl is a well kept vg++ but side one does have a few very light indentations that are obviously a result of the pressing in the factory. Overall play is quite fine but there are a few minor moments of crackle that is not intrusive on side one. Cover grades at vg+ to vg++ with a little light wear on the front. This is a must for those of you desiring something unique and different so have fun bidding. Money back guarantee if not completely satisfied. Buyer pays for shipping and handling.
