This is the rare 1964 UK 1st Press of 'Kinks' by The Kinks. This 1st press is complete with the earliest bright pink Pye label, the early corrected A1//B1 matrix and the earliest Garrod & Lofthouse laminated 'Patents Pending' flipback sleeve.
The record is in Very Good condition. It still has the original gloss and there is no whitening or wear to the grooves at all, there are just a few very light marks on both sides. On playing the sound is vibrant and extremely clear. There are no skips or jumps just some occasional light background noise. There is no major reduction in sound quality at any point. It sounds superb. The Pye label has retained its vivid pink colour and the black text is bright and sharp. There is light spindle wear and a few spider marks.
The laminated Garrod & Lofthouse sleeve is in Excellent condition. The laminate has a sensational bright polished shine and the image is still exceptionally sharp. The colours are bold, the unlaminated back cover has a little discolouration but is still extemely clean and the text is very clear. There are a few little laminate creases and the slightest wear to the opening edge however the edges are still very firm. The whole cover still feels solid and the spine has clean sharp text.
