Rare original MONO pressing of this classic debut album by THE KINKS released in the UK in 1964 on Pye. This is the first edition with the pink Pye labels.
The record plays well throughout without any skips/jumps, but does have some crackle/popping in parts (as you'd expect for a record this old!). There are a number of hairline scratches/markings on the vinyl itself, inc one very visible scratch (see photographs) but non effect playback greatly (which sounds remarkable good considering it's age!). It would probably benefit from a good professional clean if you can sort one out.
The original Garrod & Lofthouse Ltd sleeve is in very good + condition. The front retains it's strong original lamination and there are no seam splits. The opening edge does have a few scuffs (see photographs) but nothing major. There is no writing or tearing to the sleeve at all. There is a plain white paper inner which I assume is the original too. I've replaced this with a new polylined one and both will be sent with the record.
Anyway, this is a classic LP and a must have for any collection.
I got this along with a whole hoard of other original 60's vinyl LPs from a family friend that had them stored away almost forgotten for the best part of 40 years. I shall be listing ALL of these so please keep checking abck to see what else i've unearthed from the box of delights.
