Here`s a genuine UK first pressing of the The Last`s seminal album "L.A. Explosion" on London/Bomp Records (1979).
Described by Trouser Press as "a near-perfect debut", "L.A. Explosion" is a fascinating mix of Beach Boys-surf-era harmonies, 60s garage punk credibility (think Love debut album; with flutes!) and the odd sprinkling of psyched-out guitar. A power pop classic!
Grading:
MINT(-) COVER, practically perfect. Original "top-loader" sleeve with opening edge at top. Please see photos for details.
MINT(-) RECORD that looks unplayed. So close to perfect, it`s scary!
The matrix stamps in the dead wax read "AMZ-3864-1C" and "AMZ-3865-1C" respectively. The record is therefore clearly a very first -and possibly only- UK pressing.
Highly sought after in any form, UK copies of "L.A. Explosion" are so exceedingly rare that the last one sold on eBay over two years ago...
