Here’s a rare single that reaches back into the earliest days of the Ventures. That group got started in Tacoma in 1958. Not long after that, Nokie Edwards was recruited to join the group and the magic line up was complete.
This single, which come out in August of 1961, is about the same time that the Ventures had released “Silver City” is a side project under the name The Marksmen that Nokie Edwards did session guitarist Gene Moles, and drummer Bill Graham. It’s on the same Blue Horizon label that was the home of the first Ventures record a few years earlier.
Tracks on this Blue Horizon original are “Night Run” and “Scratch.”
