THE MISUNDERSTOOD – I Can Take You To The Sun ORIG Fontana 45 / TF 777 (UK, Mono, 1966)

Happy to present this UK original of surely one of the greatest  psychedelic 45s in the history of Mankind!  This song has it all; their use of slide, fuzz tone, tremolo, feedback and distortion, originality only Jeff Beck could compare to; Rick Brown’s superb lyrics; the tight rhythm section of Rick Moe and Steve Whiting and the final, mind-blowing flamenco style coda:

 

“You’ve existed in a lie

That will some day show

I can take you to the Sun, to the Sun

But you don’t want to go”

 

The labels with the original 3-prong centre are fine with no writing, stickers, tears, rips or residue.  There is slight wear to the centre hole of the A, while not many spindle traces are evident.

The 44 year old vinyl is in minimum VG (Very Good) with the following cosmetic imperfections: 2 noticeable 2-inch surface scuffs to the A, a smaller one to the B and some smaller, very light marks, hardly visible.  None of this affects the playback which comes across loud, clear and fresh with no snap, pops, clicks, distortion or loss of clarity.  Superb 1966 audio on this most important disc!!

 

Nothing more to be said, simply one of the finest singles ever recorded.  No reserve!!
